about Texas A&M University-Central Texas

Texas A&M University-Central Texas was born in the spirit of community cooperation on September 1, 1999 as Tarleton-Central Texas and became a stand-alone university on May 27, 2009 as a member of The Texas A&M University System . A&M-Central Texas is an upper-level institution offering bachelor's and master's degrees.

The student population at A&M-Central Texas is diverse and growing, currently serving over 2,500 students. Classes are offered at several convenient sites, including area community colleges and Fort Hood in order to accommodate both full- and part-time students and to serve the entire Central Texas area. The University provides a wide range of flexible course schedules, including online, evening and weekend classes.

Office of the President

In 2010, Dr. Marc Nigliazzo became the inaugural president of TAMUCT. The president guides the vision for the university and represents TAMUCT to the community.

Office of the Provost

Dr. Peg Gray-Vickrey became the new provost of TAMUCT in August of 2011. The provost guides the academic affairs of the university, ensuring quality academic programs for students.

Finance and Administration

The financial management services team provides accounting, billing, financial reporting, human resources and procurement services for the university, including management of expenditures and employees.

The university's institutional compliance program multiple responsibilities such as conflict of interest management, Texas state mandates compliance, and scientific integrity management

Admissions

TAMUCT understands that transfer students have unique needs. They don't need the same step-by-step instructions as freshmen yet they still have a unique set of challenges for their transition into a new school. We have deep ties with the community colleges in our area, and many institutions around the country. Whether you are native to the central Texas area, a new arrival, or the newest member of the Ft. Hood community, TAMUCT has a dedicated staff to help you and your fellow transfer students get connected to our university and your graduation goals.

The Office of the University Registrar supports teaching and learning at TAMUCT by maintaining the integrity of academic policies and the student information system. We are the stewards of the university's student records from application to degree conferral in perpetuity.
